Save Kenya Water Towers has been supporting Community Based Organizations (CBO’s), Women Groups, Youth Groups across the region that we cover. We give support in terms of seeds and also support by purchasing the seedlings from them to distribute to schools and institutions.
This initiative has helped us to plant over 10 Million trees in ten years and rehabilitate many catchment areas in the Cherangani Water Towers, Mount Elgon and The Mau Forest. We have also partnered with the Kenya Forest Service, Environmental and Water Institutions to set up several tree nurseries that managed by the institutions. This has gone a long way to ensure that we have enough seedlings every year to plant during the rainy season.
